This project involves the restoration of original construction depth of 10.5 miles of the Delaware and Raritan Canal in Franklin Township, Somerset County to support on-going drinking water demand. As part of the Design Team, ACT Engineers established the project survey control and base mapping, defined the regulatory limits along the project length and coordinated with project staff to minimize anticipated project impacts. In addition, ACT coordinated with Federal and State regulators, County and Municipal officials, business owners, and residents to solicit feedback and comments to be incorporated into the final design of the project. Public meetings were arranged in South Brunswick, Montgomery, Hillsborough, Rocky Hill, Millstone Borough and Somerset County to meet with interested stakeholders. A public hearing was also held to review the findings of the EID. ACT maintained a project website which included project details and updates.
